AFRICAN LITERATURE TODAY

AFRICAN LITERATURE TO RULE THE WORLD IN THE NEXT DECADE THROUGH FAME PUBLISHERS

The growth in African Literature of Nigeria origin is growing on the daily recently. This is based on the current emergence and influx in literary organization that promote interest of Nigeria literature

Such organizations led by the most renowned Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA) are doing everything possible to promote, improve and educate writers in literature and literary writing ethics. They are not only promoting the act of writing but equally reading.

Other association found in the business of promoting literature includes the creative writers association of Nigeria, Association of creative minds etc. Amongst all these, Association of Nigeria Authors (ANA) seems to be the most prominent. This association has produced prominent writers like Chinua Achebe, Odia Ofeimun, Chike Ofilli, late Cyprain Ekwensi, etc to mention but a few (as members).

The performance of some of these creative writers associations has paved a lot of ways to build the young African writers of Nigerian origin who are doing well in world classification of African Literature today.

But it is a great surprise yet why most African writers of this millennium do not produce prominent writers compared to the like of Chinua Achebe’s caliber.

A thorough study on the cause of this misnomer shows that many are great stuff written by the men and women of this age which could not survive the writers table. The reason could be attributed to so many reasons among which are the inability of the associations to publish and market books from this region internationally. Even when these writer self-publish their work, it is discovered that some major aspect of the job which suppose to be handled by a publishing firm are not done and therefore making such books to end up at the publishers desk. The major reason for this being that the major promoter and publisher job of going extra mile to edit, publish, promote, market and distribute books nationally and internationally from the point of view as a regional-based publisher and distributor is lacking.

Therefore looking at this task that will produce the future of African Literature, THE FAME PUBLISHERS has gone ahead to undertake this onerous task to make sure good writer from this region that have what it takes to make Africa proud is published, promoted and their books sent to the whole world for recognitions of their creativity.

Our first service principle to a writer is that you will belong to a known association like the Association of Nigeria Authors, Abuja Creative Writers etc.

You will accept our service conditions which includes being ready to allow our advices to allow your book to be published in our set up.

Other conditions apply but such is simple.

1.            Lack of security risk knowledge and implication of some action and reactions by the public individuals as well as government functionaries lead to a lot security risk Nigeria is facing today. This actions and reactions found its indept strength in the cultural and social behaviours of the people. One of them being that a typical Nigeria without adultration sees hospitality as a natural obligation owed to every stranger (cultural). Socially a natural Nigerian sees himself as naturally owing every neighbour an act of goodness and caring therefore goes all out to help at all cost even to his/her detriment not minding the security risks involved.

In an attempt to help one another without considering the security risks,, most have brought their greatest enemy home and open heartedly waiting for death or a near death situation even without knowing.

Take for instance when your causin who is a criminal visits your house in the midnight without first calling to say he is visiting; yet it is sacriledgeous to send him back till next morning. This is our culture, yet full of security risks.

Tell me which of our normal way of life full of such security risks you see everyday that brings our enemy home and yet we have no moral reason to reject them rather endure even to our grave.

You can speak to me by sending me a mail on info@securityrisknigeria.com or call me on 08095475821

2.            WHAT CAN WE MEAN WHEN WE SPEAK OF SECURITY RISK?

If  life is full of risk, and within every risk is a security situation, then risk is life and life is a risk. This is to say that to live is a struggle between the risks. But what do you think will happen if life full of security risk has no identity that neutralizes the effects. Therefore knowledge of security risk management is an advantage to live life better as a manager.

Security risk in this context may have to look at the areas of suspected vulnerability in the day to day running of individual life as well as security checks on the country polity and social relationship between the citizens of Nigeria and the larger society in general. This means that in view of the above interest, we may have to look at the events and situations Nigeria people are facing vis Avis the social contract as the polity has seemed to promise all citizen.

In this blog we will adopt the social contractor approach who sees the society as a work in the hand of the contractor who promises to deliver at all cost being mindful of social equality, and justice to all. This is the type of contract the politicians signed with the political party and that between the government and the people.

The security risk of this type can be seen in our everyday life and so we will approach this by looking at the realistic and the idealistic analysis of events as they happen noting the security risks these actions and reactions will lead to Nigeria and her citizens.
